If you are reading this because an ERP programme is going wrong, the most useful thing we can tell you is that recovery is almost always possible, and that the earlier you act the cheaper and less damaging it is. We are brought in to stabilise failing implementations, work out what can.
ERP rescue is what we are known for. PEF Consulting Partners takes control of failing or drifting ERP implementations and returns them to controlled, governed delivery, led by the team behind the recovery of the BP Pulse programme across five continents. Start with our free Programme Recovery Health Check to see where your programme really stands, or read our guide on how to rescue a failing ERP programme.
We are independent. We did not sell you the software and we are not the systems integrator, so our only interest is getting the programme to a good outcome and leaving.
A programme in trouble is usually also in some chaos, with the team firefighting and the reporting no longer trusted. The first job is to stop the bleeding: understand the true position, freeze uncontrolled change, and give the sponsor an honest picture, often for the first time in months.
Not what the original plan promised, but what can genuinely be delivered from where you now are. This means an unsentimental look at scope, data, testing and the team, and separating what is truly mandatory for go live from what has been treated as mandatory out of habit.
A new plan built on the real position, with a credible date, defensible scope and the contingency the original plan lacked. Something the board can be told and held to.
Reporting the sponsor can trust again, governance that surfaces problems early, and a relationship with the systems integrator that is honest about where things stand. Confidence is usually as damaged as the plan, and it has to be rebuilt deliberately.
An independent assessment of where the programme truly stands usually takes two to three weeks, and serious problems are visible within the first. From there, a re baselined plan can follow quickly. The cost of doing this now is a fraction of the cost of a failed go live.
Rarely. Even programmes that have missed a go live can be recovered. What changes with time is the cost and the disruption, which is why acting early matters.
Yes. Recovery is not about blame. Good integrators generally welcome an independent view that resolves disputes about scope and expectation. We report to you, which is what makes that possible.
An independent, evidence based assessment of the real position and a clear recommendation on the path forward.
