Overview

A seasoned global utilities, telco, technology, finance and M&A private equity consultant with a track record spanning over eighteen years. I lead transformative initiatives across the gas, electricity, water, finance, telco and M&A sectors, and I work closely with private equity and hedge funds to drive change management, enhance financial returns and take on interim management, ultimately contributing to significant improvements in each organisation’s EBITDA.

Selected engagements

Project Director, National Grid to NESO separation

National Grid · Warwick

I led the £9bn separation of National Grid ESO into NESO, carving out a fully independent electricity system operator. I drove the full RFP and contract negotiation process, ensuring commercial terms protected the new entity from day one. I structured and negotiated the transitional service agreements with National Grid, balancing speed to independence against operational risk and ensuring NESO was compliant with DESNZ and Ofgem requirements while systematically reducing reliance on the former parent. Across the programme I governed the secure migration of nineteen million documents, stood up PMO governance from scratch, and delivered to the exacting standards of a government scrutinised separation.

Global IT Transformation Director, BP

BP · Greater London

I was brought in on an interim basis as Global Transformation Director to recover a struggling £12bn EV infrastructure rollout after the departure of the incumbent Programme Director, inheriting a complex, multi country programme that had stalled and needed immediate leadership. I stabilised and turned around delivery, including the implementation of a global ERP solution on a £212m contract alongside Microsoft Dynamics 365 for supply chain management, taking both from a position of risk to controlled delivery. I directed a global PMO across 900 contractors, stood up secure data centre operations and reimposed governance and accountability at every level of the programme. I successfully turned the programme around and delivered a structured handover to permanent leadership, leaving a stable, governed and fully operational transformation in place.

Compliance and Enforcement Lead Director, Ofgem £9bn EBSS Scheme

Ofgem · Greater London

Working directly with Ofgem, Government Treasury, suppliers and BEIS as the Compliance and Enforcement Lead for the £9bn EBSS Ofgem and BEIS scheme, supporting more than twenty two million households.

  • Led Q&A sessions with energy suppliers to steer them through the RFI conditions in readiness for the disbursement of the £9bn to their customers
  • Designed and implemented the readiness assessment applied to energy suppliers, to understand their operational and financial readiness to receive the government monies for the EBSS scheme
  • Engaged with government BEIS and treasury teams to ensure they fully understood the readiness of suppliers, enabling fluency between multiple stakeholders and reducing the risk presented by the scheme

Programme Director, Kraken Migration, Ancala

Ancala · Manchester

I led the £120m first ever migration of a water utility onto Octopus Energy’s Kraken platform, delivering a programme of genuine market significance with 250,000 customers successfully transitioned onto new CRM infrastructure. I owned the full procurement and implementation lifecycle, selecting and deploying Kraken as a SaaS CRM alongside Microsoft Dynamics 365, taking both from vendor selection through to operational go live. I drove commercial negotiations and system integration, ensuring the new technology stack delivered operational efficiency and regulatory compliance from day one. I established governance frameworks from scratch, appointing PwC as QA partner and applying a blended Agile and Waterfall delivery model to manage the complexity of a live customer migration at scale.

IT Transformation Consultant, ExxonMobil

ExxonMobil · Remote

I was retained by ExxonMobil to advise C suite leadership on IT operating model strategy across a £900m asset base, with a direct mandate to drive efficiency, governance and digital transformation at enterprise scale. Working at board level, I redesigned the IT operating model and delivered strategic roadmaps that aligned technology investment to commercial outcomes. My recommendations were adopted by the executive team and directly contributed to a seven per cent reduction in OPEX, releasing material cost from a £900m asset portfolio. I established centres of excellence that embedded lasting governance frameworks and best practices into the organisation, creating sustainable capability well beyond the engagement. Throughout I operated as a trusted advisor to the C suite, translating complex technology strategy into clear commercial decisions.

Programme Director, Capita, smart metering

Capita · Greater London

A rolling twelve month associate contract, extended, delivering IT infrastructure to the UK energy market, including the implementation of IT systems for twenty five million smart meters communicating across the UK network.

Senior Associate Consultant, E.ON

E.ON UK · Salford

A contract to deliver change transformation in the dynamic prepayment sector of E.ON Next’s portfolio, an SAP and SaaS implementation and integration for over nine million customers. My role centred on scrutinising multiple facets of the portfolio to uncover root cause issues that were costing the business and to orchestrate a comprehensive transformation of the prepayment segment.

  • Kraken transformation: driving transformative initiatives for enhanced operational efficiency, and holding the CRM supplier to account for any inefficiency not delivered to contract
  • Imbalance resolution: resolving disparities and imbalances within the prepayment segment of the portfolio
  • Transformational turnaround: a turnaround strategy to reduce operational OPEX and improve day to day efficiency
  • GSOS: highlighting where GSOS is being paid and why, and fixing the root cause of the significant cost of this payment
