Case study
Leading the first ever migration of a water utility onto the Kraken platform, delivered for the infrastructure investor Ancala, and proving a route the rest of the sector is now following.
The Kraken platform had already reshaped energy retail, but no water utility had ever moved onto it. Working for the infrastructure investor Ancala, our leadership led the programme that would change that. Being first is its own kind of risk. There was no template to copy, no one to ask what goes wrong at step forty, and no reassurance that the platform’s energy heritage would map cleanly onto the different shape of water. Every one of the usual migration risks was still there, data quality, the operating model, integration and the cutover itself, but this time they had to be solved without precedent and without the safety net of someone having done it before.
Our leadership led the programme end to end and treated it as a full transformation, not a software installation.
The first water utility was successfully migrated onto Kraken, and in doing so a route was proven that the wider water sector is now following. For an investor like Ancala it turned an operational thesis into a delivered outcome. Being trusted to go first, and delivering it, is one of the strongest signals of confidence a client can give and a supplier can earn.
A first of a kind migration removes every comfort of precedent and leaves only method and judgement. Having led the first water migration onto Kraken, we bring both the discipline of treating a migration as a full programme and the nerve to deliver one where no one has gone before.
We treat a migration as a full programme, not a software install, and we have done the hardest version of it first. Talk to us before the data surprises you.
