Pricing guide
Sage publishes a starting price for Sage Intacct in the UK, which is more than most cloud finance vendors do. That price only covers the core. This guide explains what is included, what costs extra and how to budget for the first three years.
By Christopher Fagan, Managing Partner, PEF Consulting Partners
Sage lists Sage Intacct in the UK from £1,200 a month excluding VAT. That covers the core financials with three business users and a pack of ten employee users for time, expenses and approvals. Everything beyond that is quoted.
General ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management sit at the heart of the core, with dimensional reporting and dashboards built in.
| Area | What it adds | Who needs it |
|---|---|---|
| More business users | Full access for more of the finance team | Growing finance teams |
| Multi entity and global consolidation | Entity structures, intercompany, currencies and consolidation | Groups with several companies or countries |
| Revenue management and contracts | Revenue recognition and subscription billing | Software and subscription businesses |
| Projects and time | Project costing, billing and time capture | Professional services firms |
| Fixed assets | Asset register and depreciation | Asset heavy organisations |
| Inventory, purchasing and order entry | Stock, purchase and sales order processes | Organisations with lighter operations |
| Planning | Budgeting and forecasting | Teams replacing spreadsheet budgets |
Implementation is delivered by Sage or a partner, usually as a fixed fee for a defined scope or on day rates. The main drivers are the number of entities, chart of accounts and dimension design, data migration from your current system, integrations with payroll, CRM and banking, and report build. A single entity, finance only project sits at the lower end; a group with integrations and several years of history to migrate sits at the upper end.
Budget too for internal time, training and any integration or connector costs.
Work out the three year cost, not the monthly price. The core subscription alone comes to £43,200 excluding VAT over three years before any increase. Add users and modules, add implementation, then apply the annual increase in your contract. If the contract has no cap on renewal increases, negotiate one before signing.
Against NetSuite, Sage Intacct publishes a starting price but has a narrower finance first scope, so like for like comparisons need care. Against Sage 200, Intacct costs more but adds cloud multi entity consolidation and dimensional reporting. Against Business Central, the answer depends on whether you want a Microsoft platform with broader operations or a finance first system.

Sage lists it from £1,200 a month excluding VAT for the core financials with three business users and ten employee users. Extra users and modules are quoted.
Partly. The starting price includes a set number of users, and additional business users are added to the subscription alongside any modules.
It is aimed at growing and mid sized organisations. Smaller businesses with simple needs are usually better served by Sage 50, Xero or similar until complexity justifies the step up.
Most UK implementations are delivered by Sage or an accredited partner. Choose on relevant experience and a fixed scope rather than on day rate alone.
