AI automation and data consultancy

Automation only pays off if it sits on a foundation you can trust. Automate a broken process on poor data and you produce mistakes faster. We help organisations get the data foundation right first, then automate the processes where the return is genuine and measurable, in that order, because the order matters.

Talk to us

PEF Consulting Partners approaches data and automation as delivery, not experimentation. Our leadership carried the data workstream on the first ever water utility migration onto the Kraken platform, where automated processes had to reconcile to the penny from day one.

Where we help

Data foundations

Understanding what data you have, where it lives, who owns it and whether it can be trusted. Establishing the ownership, quality and structure that everything built on top of it depends on. Unglamorous and essential.

Automation, where it pays

Identifying the processes where automation delivers a real, measurable return, and automating those, rather than automating for its own sake. Not every process should be automated, and part of our job is saying which should not.

Making it stick

Ensuring automated processes are governed, monitored and owned, so they keep working and do not quietly drift or break unnoticed.

AI automation that earns its keep

AI has widened what can be automated. Documents, emails and forms that once needed a person to read them can now be classified and processed, and AI agents can carry out defined tasks across systems. We design and deliver AI automation alongside conventional workflow automation and robotic process automation, choosing the simplest tool that does the job reliably.

If you have been talking to AI automation agencies, the difference is that we start from the process and the business case rather than the build.

Why data comes first

The single most common automation failure is building on data nobody trusts. The automation works technically, but the outputs are wrong or disputed, so people go back to doing it by hand and checking the machine. Getting the data foundation right first is slower to start and far faster to a result that actually gets used.

Frequently asked questions

Are you an AI automation agency?

We are a consultancy rather than an agency. We identify the processes worth automating, design the solution and deliver it with your teams and technology partners, so you own what is built and can run it.

What is the difference between RPA and AI automation?

Robotic process automation follows fixed rules on structured data. AI automation can handle unstructured inputs such as documents and emails and make bounded judgements. Many processes use both, with people reviewing the exceptions.

Should we automate everything we can?

No. Automation has a cost to build and maintain, and some processes do not run often enough or cost enough to justify it. We help you target the automation that genuinely pays back.

Where does this sit relative to a full transformation?

Data and automation is often a high value component of a wider transformation, and sometimes a standalone piece that delivers quickly on its own. See digital transformation.
